When you create your account, we ask you to accept these terms and conditions. We record which version you accepted and when.

The service
3.1 What Monipath is
Monipath is a tool for planning and tracking your personal finances. With the Service, you can, amongst other things:
Track income, expenditure and transfers, either manually or via a CSV export from your bank;
categorise transactions automatically using rules;
drawing up and monitoring budgets;
setting and tracking savings goals;
track your debts and calculate a repayment strategy;
view your cash flow up to twelve months in advance and check whether an expenditure is affordable (the affordability check);
view reports, such as planned versus actual;
Share your plans with other users.
3.2 What Monipath is not
Monipath is explicitly no:
Bank or financial institution: Monipath does not manage any money, hold any funds or process any payments. Monipath does not connect to your bank account: transactions are only recorded when you enter them yourself or upload an export file from your bank.
Payment service provider: Monipath does not process payments between users or with third parties. The only payments are those for your own subscription, via Mollie.
Lender or credit intermediary: Monipath does not provide loans and does not refer you to lenders.
Financial adviser: Monipath does not provide advice on specific financial products, such as loans, insurance or investments.
Tax adviser: Monipath does not provide tax advice.
3.3 Calculations are for information purposes only; they do not constitute advice
The cash flow, affordability check, repayment strategies and other overviews are calculations based on the data you enter yourself. They are general information, not personal financial advice. You are personally responsible for the financial decisions you make. If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified adviser.
Account and security
To use the Service, you must create an account.
You must be at least 18 years old.
You must provide accurate and up-to-date details when registering.
Your account is strictly personal. You must not share your login details or transfer your account to anyone else. If you wish to manage your finances together with someone else, please share a ‘path’ (Article 6).
Every account is secured with a mandatory second factor: an authenticator app, with backup codes as a fallback. You are responsible for keeping your password, your second factor and your backup codes safe, and for everything that happens via your account.
If you have lost both your two-factor authentication code and your backup codes, or if you can no longer access your email, please contact us. We will only restore your access once we have verified that the account belongs to you.
Do you suspect that someone else has access to your account? If so, log out immediately on all devices via your security settings, change your password and let us know.
Subscriptions and payment
5.1 Subscription and price
| Subscription |
Price |
| Basic, monthly |
€5.99 per month
Cancellable on a monthly basis
|
| Basic, annual |
€49.99 per year |
All prices include VAT. There is no free version.
5.2 Trial period
Your subscription starts with a 14-day free trial.
When you start your trial period, you’ll need to link a payment method.
If you do not cancel before the end of the trial period, the paid subscription will automatically commence and the first payment will be debited.
5.3 Payment
Payment is processed via Mollie, using the payment method you have linked (such as iDEAL, credit card or SEPA direct debit).
You pay for a monthly subscription in advance each month, and for an annual subscription in advance each year.
You can switch between monthly and annual billing. The change will take effect on your next billing date.
We may adjust our prices. We will notify you of any price changes at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree to the change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
5.4 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings.
Once you cancel, your subscription will not be renewed. You will retain access until the end of the period for which you have already paid. You will not receive a refund for that remaining period.
5.5 If payment is not made (or has ceased)
If the trial period ends without payment, your subscription is cancelled and has expired, or a payment fails, the Service will be locked.
You will then no longer be able to view or edit your financial details. You will only be able to change your payment method or delete your account.
Your details will be retained. As soon as you make another payment, you will regain full access.
5.6 Right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the Agreement for a paid subscription within 14 days of entering into it, without giving any reason (Section 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code).
If you expressly request to start using the Service immediately and thereby declare that you waive your right of withdrawal (Section 6:230p(a) of the Dutch Civil Code), the right of withdrawal shall lapse as soon as the provision of the service has commenced.
If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, please send a clear statement to legal@monipath.com/en.
Paths and sharing
You keep track of your financial data in one or more ‘paths’.
A path always has exactly one Owner. The Owner can share the path with other users and assign them a role:
Reader: can only view the data in the path;
Editor: can view and edit the data in the path;
Owner: can do everything, including managing members, transferring ownership and deleting the site.
An invitation to a ‘path’ is valid for 14 days.
The Owner determines who has access and is responsible for ensuring that they only share a path with people they trust.
If you leave a shared path, you will lose access to the data in that path.
What happens to shared paths when you delete your account is set out in Article 12.1.
Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Service, such as the software, design, text, logos and images, are held by Monipath. Please also see our Copyright Policy.
You retain ownership of the data you enter or import.
You only authorise Monipath to process that data to the extent necessary to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not publish or disclose your data.
Usage rules
You must not use the Service:
in breach of the law;
to enter data that infringes the rights of others;
to access, scrape or index the Service automatically without our written consent;
to circumvent or breach the security of the Service;
to deliberately overload or disrupt the Service.
If you fail to comply with these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account (see clause 12.2).
Availability and maintenance
We do our best to keep the Service available as much as possible, but we cannot guarantee that the Service will always work without errors.
We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or improvements. We will endeavour to give advance notice of scheduled maintenance.
We shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from the temporary unavailability of the Service, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Liability
10.1 Limitation
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
We accept no liability for:
indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of profit or lost savings;
damage caused by incorrect or incomplete data that you have entered or imported;
damage resulting from financial decisions you have made on the basis of the Service;
damage resulting from the misuse of your account by others, unless this is due to wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of Monipath.
10.2 Exception
These limitations do not apply in the event of damage caused by Monipath’s wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
10.3 Force majeure
We are not obliged to fulfil an obligation if we are prevented from doing so by force majeure. This includes, amongst other things: internet disruptions, power cuts, disruptions at suppliers, natural disasters, pandemics and government measures.
Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can read about how we do this in our Privacy Statement.
Termination
12.1 By you: deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time via your account settings under your profile, even if your subscription has expired.
Before you delete your account, you can export your data (CSV or JSON).
If you are the owner of a shared path, you can choose for each path: to transfer it to another member (this is enabled by default) or to delete the path along with all its data. Paths with no other members are always deleted as well.
Once you have confirmed, your account and your data will be deleted immediately and permanently. This cannot be undone. We only retain your invoices, as required by law (see the Privacy Statement).
An active subscription will be cancelled immediately upon deletion. No further charges will be made, and you will not receive a refund for the current period.
12.2 By Monipath
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
if you do not comply with these terms and conditions;
you use the Service for unlawful purposes;
we are legally obliged to do so.
We will let you know this in advance, unless this is not reasonably possible.
Changes to these terms and conditions
We may amend these terms and conditions.
We will announce any significant changes at least 30 days before they come into effect, via a notification in the app and an email.
When a new version is released, we’ll ask you to accept it within the app. We’ll record which version you accepted and when.
If you do not agree to the new terms and conditions, you may cancel your subscription (clause 5.4) or delete your account (clause 12.1).
Applicable law and disputes
These terms and conditions and the Agreement are governed by Dutch law.
Disputes shall be referred to the court having jurisdiction under the law.
